Budget-Friendly Races for March

Joining races nowadays mean saving up for it because of the steep registration fees involved.   Gone are the days when you passed by a registration area, thought that the race was worthwhile, and register outright since back then chances are the cash you have with you are enough to join one.   For those badly wanting to join races without breaking the bank here are some “alternatives” you may consider:

March 07

  • The Amazing Kidney Race
    Distances: 15K Solo, 15K Relay (of 5), 5K, 2.2K Tandem
    Location: UP Diliman
Registration Fee: P350 for 15K Solo; P300 for 15K Relay, 5K, and 2.2K Tandem per person
  • Yakult 10-Miler
    Distances: 10 miles, 5K, 3K
    Location: CCP Complex
    Registration Fee: P300

March 13

These are some of the races for March that I think is worth looking at with confirmed registration fees.   It may only span two weekends but registering for one popular race is more expensive than two, perhaps even three of the races in the list!   One that made it to this list, Yakult 10-Miler is special to me because it was my first 10-mile race, and was missing last year.  If you’re like me who misses races in this price range, March is a good time to take your pick.   And I dare “big-time” race organizers to make races with fees at this price range—if “small-time” players can do it, why can’t they?

Let’s go for the cheaper registration fees in races, there are still organizers out there who don’t milk us the way some big races do.. see you at the races!

what about a collective agreement to ban expensive races that doesnt offer anything new hehehehe. Well if the demand is low, they will now be forced to decrease the cost of race registration dba? and they can still make it good if more runners will join because of cheaper fees…i hope some organizers will rise up to the challenge….

gone were the days when the most expensive races were adidas and new balance at P250. sigh. the first time i paid P500 was for NB power run. they were the first to have the champion chip timing device and you had to return it after the race :) nice blog. add me to your blog roll? i added you in mine :)

Good ol’ days indeed (I didn’t know they used non-disposable timing chips then, interesting). Thanks for the compliment, I added your site to my blogroll as well. :)
