What a great marathon it really was, as hot as the race day weather! The first Summit Water CamSur Marathon had just concluded, and the Kenyans weren’t able to complete their dominance with the race.

While the men’s marathon top five was a clean sweep of Kenya, their female counterparts was only able to occupy the fourth and fifth spot, giving Tatiana Villosova of Russia the third spot, and the top two slots were taken by Ethiopia via Radiya Adlo Roba (2:40:45, runner-up) and Ayelu Lemma Geda (2:40:05). The three fastest men on the roads were Tariku Aboste Bokan (2:20:54, 3rd), Joel Kemboi (2:19:47, runner-up), and Richard Kimeli Kemboi out-paced everyone with a time of 2:19:40.
On the other hand, the half marathon was a showcase of Pinoy talents as they dominated over their Kenyan rivals. For the men, the third and second place belonged to Kenya’s Anthony Kosgei Cheptoo (1:14:18) and Philip Ronoh (1:11:42), respectively while the king of the half-marathon was the Philippines’ Julius Seramona with a time of 1:10:40. The lone Kenyan on the top three for the women’s half marathon was Susan Jemutai (1:31:28) while taking the top two spot were Pinays Mirasol Abad (1:29:14, runner-up) and Flordeliza Donos (1:19:08).
