For our final day in Negros Occidental we headed south for a change, and visited the City of Bago. Travelling between north and south are interestingly quite different, but like all other cities in the province that we visited, Bago City is also packed with history.
True, I already did ultramarathons in the past, but this year’s Run United 3 was my first ever 32K race. Unfortunately though I came to race partially injured because I had thought I’d missed it.

The ruins was supposed to be the last agenda on our itinerary and because of our unfortunate delays going to the site, we had no time to spare and rushed to the airport. Travelling throughout the province is quite easy pretty much everywhere, with the exception of the airport! Yes, there are shuttle services to Bacolod-Silay Airport, but they take ages to leave the terminal and time was a luxury we can’t afford.

The Quezon City International Marathon is back for its third installment, and aside from an improved route all finishers get a chance to win a condominium unit from its sponsor!
On November 30, 2011, take part in a monumental campaign to deliver light to thousands of homes in Metro Manila. Join hundreds of bikers to help bring 10,000 solar bottle bulbs from Camp Aguinaldo to the historical Pinaglabanan Shrine, where they will be distributed amongst volunteers and installed in 30 communities.
For our second (and planned last) day in Negros Occidental, our itinerary brought us to the cities of Victorias and Talisay, and we were joined by our friend and her company on this trip. Here’s how our day went.

Bacolod City has some of the best places to eat condensed into a relatively small area. There’s one perfect for every budget and oftentimes you need not wander far from the city center. We’ve roamed around Bacolod City to come up with our recommendations:
The date 11/11/11 (November 11, 2011) is a tad more especial for me, more than it’s visual appeal, as it marked this blog’s third anniversary. It is also the last Friday before my first 32K at Run United 3 so it’s the best time to carbo-load—and for this special day I picked the latest addition to SM Megamall’s restaurants, Yabu, on its opening day.
Bacolod: the City of Smiles. One need not go far and wide to validate this claim, and there’s more to Negros Occidental’s capital than the Masskara Festival.
It seems that Filipinos are becoming more conscious about what they put in their mouths as healthier food choices are coming into the local scene, and now a popular name in California when it comes to smoothies, juices, and more had just arrived in the country—Jamba Juice!
